It’s football season! Why not celebrate by using this funny photo scavenger hunt idea to organize a game that’s great for players of any age.
This idea also includes a free printable list – keep reading to get your copy.
Here’s how to play it:
Resources
- List of football teams (see below)
- Pens
- Cameras (cellphone cameras are fine to use)
Preparation
None
Teams
This scavenger hunt is the most fun when played in small teams, but if you only have a few people participating it can be done in pairs or individually.
If playing individually, players will need cameras that have a timer as they won’t have a teammate to take the photos for them.
Instructions
Give each team a copy of the list of NFL teams (see the download link below). Explain that their task is to dress up like as many different teams as they can and take photos of each one.
Examples
Dressing up as some of the teams will be fairly straightforward – especially for teams like the Lions and Bears.
Some of the team names can be a little more ambiguous though, so let players interpret those ones how they like.
For example, the San Diego Chargers have a lightning bolt as their symbol. Teams could therefore dress up as lightning, or they could be even more creative and dress up like a phone charger or cavalrymen leading a charge.
For the Cowboys, if you’re playing this with young guys, they could dress up as cows (i.e. cow-boys).
Points
Award points as follows:
- One point for each NFL team that they take a photo of
- One point for each member of a team who’s part of a photo
- One point for the best photo of each NFL team – this can be based on creativity, how funny they are, etc
When awarding points for each player that’s in a photo, they should only be awarded if they’re actually participating in it.
For example, if one person’s dressed up as a bear and the other players are just standing there smiling, only one point should be awarded. If the bear’s attacking one player and another is posing with a fake gun about to shoot the bear, three points would be awarded.
List
Here’s a list of 20 different NFL teams who have names that are a little easier to take photos of. Beneath this is a link to a printable scavenger hunt list – please feel free to print as many copies as you need when playing this game.
Alternatively, you could put together your own list, either with different teams or all of them.
