Getting To Know You Scavenger Hunt List

Dated By

This Getting To Know You scavenger hunt is an excellent team building activity or icebreaker for adults, kids and youth groups.

The aim of this scavenger hunt is, needless to say, to help the participants get to know each other better.

Resources

  • Scavenger hunt list (see below)
  • Pens

Preparation

None

How To Play

Give each person in the group a copy of the list and a pen. The list contains many different and random questions that can describe people.

They then have to go around the room and find people that match each of the questions on the list.

Getting To Know You Scavenger Hunt List

To make this activity nice and easy for you to organize, we’ve listed below 25 different questions for players to have to match to other people in the group.

Beneath the list is a link to a free downloadable copy of the list – this can then be saved to your computer for future use and can be printed off as many times as you like.

Winner

There are a couple of ways to decide which person is the winner:

  1. The person who completes their list first
  2. The person who has the most different names on their list

If you decide to use the second option, make sure all of the participants are aware that this is how the winner will be decided. Otherwise, you might have players rushing to get through all their questions, only to find out that they’ve lost!

Learning Points

If you’re doing this as a team building activity with kids or teenagers, the team building element can continue once the scavenger hunt itself is over.

For example, you could ask everyone who has green eyes to put their hand up, then everyone who can play the piano, then everyone who owns a pet that isn’t a cat or dog, etc.

This is particularly beneficial if your group is in the forming stage of group development, as it’ll highlight similarities between them and therefore helps them find common ground.
